Well of course we’d pay money for sneakers to tone our legs as we went about our business! That’s why over half a million people bought Sketchers’ brand Shape-ups shoes, which the company claimed would help us lose weight, strengthen our legs and tone our butts.
Nope, says the government’s Federal Trade Commission. It calls those butt-toning claims “unfounded” and says the same for Sketchers’ Resistance Runner, Toners, and Tone-ups shoes.
Many people are getting their money back this month, says the FTC. If you didn’t already ask for a refund it’s probably too late but you can call 1-888-325-4186 with questions. Remember, the FTC never asks people to pay money.
