The “All Natural” claims of four companies are actually man-made — as the products themselves are full of synthetics, according to the Federal Trade Commission. The companies settled the claims today and are supposed to stop tricking us but a quick search on-line proves this could take some time.

So this summer, when wanting to lather up with lotions made from the purest ingredients, these are not the ones to buy.

ShiKai All Natural Hand & Body Lotion is not all natural – at all. ShiKai’s “All Natural Hand and Body Lotion” – sold online, at Walgreens.com and vitacoast.com – contain Dimethicone, Ethyhexyl Glycerin, and Phenoxyethanol. The “All Natural Moisturizing Gel” contains Phenoxyethanol.

 

 

 

Rocky Mountain Sunscreen

Rocky Mountain Sunscreen  promotes “all natural” products on its website but  the “Natural Face Stick” contains Dimethicone, Polyethylene, and other synthetic ingredients.

 

 

This "natural" hair care line by EDEN contains a range of synthetics.

EDEN BodyWorks sells a “Coconut Shea All Natural Styling Elixer” and a “Jojoba Monoi All Natural Shampoo” but they both contain a range of synthetic ingredients such as Polyquaternium-37, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, and Polyquaternium

Beyond Coastal describes its “Natural Sunscreen SPF 30″  as “100% natural.” However, it contains Dimethicone.
