Keep your eye on unemployment - whether you want a job or not.

The unemployment rate affects your local park, your child’s school and even the value of your home. Even if you don’t have or want a job.

In this country, about 7.4 percent of all people are actively looking for work but can’t find it – they’re unemployed. But this number changes a lot from city to city. Employed people tend to pay taxes and their mortgages, meaning when many are out of work, your city suffers. Schools and parks are tax-payer funded. Foreclosures are never good for surrounding property values. Take a look and see the economy in your city.
