Gas prices expected to fall for summer – but not much.

Gas prices during summer are expected to fall slightly,  the U.S. Energy Information Agency reports. By July, prices should average $3.63 a gallon, just a drop – pun intended – lower than the past two years. Still, though, they won’t reach those lovely low prices of 2010, when gas cost about $2.76 per gallon.

What does that mean? Well, we should all ALWAYS be working to save gas all the time. (Here’s some ideas for spending less on gas, more on manicures.) But at least without the forecast of any further spikes, you can figure how much driving cross country will cost you during vacation season.

This summer’s slight price reprieve is thanks to lower crude oil prices, less consumer gas consumption and also building up of gas inventories.
